Chocolate Rotisserie Chicken

The chicken is first coated in a mixture of cocoa powder, sugar, and spices. The chicken is then marinated in a rich chocolate sauce, and cooked slowly on a rotisserie until it is juicy and tender. Ingredients
- One Standard Chicken
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Cayenne Pepper
- Smoked Paprika
- Garlic Herb & Salt
- Italian Herbs
- Two Onions (1 big, 1 small)
- One Cup + 238g of Brown (Raw) Caster Sugar
- 500g Nutella
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 220°C/200°C fan-forced.
- Place your chicken onto a rotisserie spit and season it generously with salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, garlic herb & salt and Italian herbs.
- Cut one onion into quarters and place it inside the chicken cavity.
- Place the chicken onto the rotisserie and cook it for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until cooked through.
- 10 minutes before the chicken is cooked, start making the chocolate sauce. Place the brown sugar, Nutella and the other onion (chopped) into a saucepan over low heat.
- Cook the sauce, stirring frequently, until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce is smooth.
- When the chicken is cooked, brush it generously with the chocolate sauce.
- Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes before carving and serving. Enjoy!
